Day one of the Sydney Royal Easter Show and there was no time for first day jitters for the Show Radio crew. The Drive and Evening team got stuck right in right away.
Lex caught up with the girls from Merewether Physical Culture Club and the dedicated mum, who had made the three hour drive down to Sydney so her girls could perform in the opening ceremony at Spotless Stadium. Over 300 girls performed on the pitch, in the competitive sport which girls and ladies regularly compete in regionally. The girls performed routines which combined elements of ballet, jazz, contemporary, pilates and hip hop.

We also had a yarn with Trevor who, in his eighteenth year of manning the saddlery store at the show, was selling Aussie made sheepskin uggs, akubra and cowboy hats, belts and, of course, saddles.
Before Troy Cassar-Daley made his centre stage debut, we had the best seats in the house for the rodeo clash of the nations, which Australia won over New Zealand, 8 – 3.
One day down, thirteen to go. There’s plenty more to come at the show.
