Every day for the duration of Show Radio, regardless of whether you’re on or not, or when you’re meant to start, you wake up from having dreamt about your next days content.. so you mull over that while sipping a coffee.
6:00 – Wake up in work mode
6:30 – Stretch while thinking about Show Radio, try to put together breakfast and coffee, knowing you’ll only get the coffee part done..
7:00 – Put on your Sydney Royal Easter Show shirt and make sure you haven’t forgotten every piece of equipment you could ever need.
7:30 – Head to the train station to beat the crowds heading to the show
8:30 – Enter the broadcast room (panic room) to join your peers in the chaos that is Show Radio
10:00 – SHOW 1 STARTS… AAAAAHHHHH
10:30 – Head off to get an interview with a high diver
11:00 – Send the files to your peer who was simply too busy to do the interview (teamwork makes the dream work)
11:30 – Check in with the on air team to help out
12:00 – go to the bathroom (buy 2 sausage sizzles and inhale them in about 30 seconds)
1:00 – Show 1 is finished!!! Yay!!! Oh, and show 2 starts!! AAAHHHH
1-4pm – Blink, the final show is finished, you’ve done your airchecks and somehow you’ve eaten 16 packets of nerds alongside your 4th coffee?
5pm – Head home because by some hand of god you’ve finished your editing for the day
6pm – Force yourself to have some real food (a frozen pizza)
7pm – You’re tired, give yourself a little ‘lie down’
8pm onwards – You’ve passed out which you definitely weren’t going to do… almost time to do it all over again.
Watch my reel that I made in the extremely fun mania that is Show Radio:
