The Elders Show Must Go On Angus Sale did in fact, ‘go on’ on the the weekend with a bull from Circle 8 Angus selling for a whopping $20,000.
The event, normally held at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, went ahead in a unique and innovative way with an online auction. The organisers had a spanner thrown in the works when the government announced the inevitable decision to cancel the show only a few weeks before it was due to go ahead due to the Covid-19 outbreak across Australia.
Although many have suffered from the cancellation of the show, plaudits have gone out to the organisers for thinking quickly and putting together the online auctions to ensure the participants could still go ahead with the event.
