Meet Chebbo. A talented 23 year old Aussie who created the booming burger business ‘Chebbo’s Burgers’. His iconic food truck debuted at The Sydney Royal Easter Show this year. With lines stretched across Riverina Avenue, his success is not slowing down. It’s just getting started!
Show Radio Presenter Ella chatted all things burgers and business with Chebbo this morning.
Chebbo told Ella that he has always been a foodie. He loves to eat! His burger dream started when he worked at McDonalds, slinging Big Macs and Quarter Pounders. He took these skills back into his own kitchen and started making burgers for his friends and family. From there, ‘Chebbo’s Burgers’ was born! While he was studying Accounting at University, his small business was only a side hustle. Little did he know, ‘Chebbo’s Burgers’ was going to break the internet.
University no more, Chebbo took on his burger business full time. He thanks the social media platform ‘TikTok’ for his overnight success. “TikTok brought on a wave of transparency into social media”, he says. His authentic and genuinely passionate personality shone through the app and touched the hearts of foodies all across the globe.
When Ella asked Chebbo if he had any advice for aspiring foodies wanting to start their own business, Chebbo puts it simply. “If you’ve got a vision, you make it a reality”, he says. There are a multitude of food trucks in Sydney. There are thousands of burger restaurants and chains. The food isn’t the variable anymore. It’s about the story, the message, the brand and the customer experience. Chebbo says, “the connection with my followers and community gives me the upper hand”.
