There are far too many food choices at the Easter Show, and one person simply can’t be expected to try them all. So I am very kindly offering you one piece of advice: don’t go to Smoking Gringos. Not because the food is bad- quite the opposite. It’s probably some of the best food you will find at the show (not many other places can boast award winning tacos that draw huge crowds every night of the week)! But it’s because it’s so good that I don’t want you to go there… quite selfishly, I just want to eat it all myself.
Jade and Richard started Smoking Gringos in Blacktown in 2023 and since then they have gone from strength to strength. After opening their restaurant they have created a food truck that is now calling the Sydney Royal Easter Show home for the second year running! I went to speak to them about how they got into the taco game and what it takes to be awarded the best taco in Australia.
