The Puppy Races in the pet pavillions have been one of the highlights for families here at the Sydney Royal Easter show. The puppies used in this daily attraction come the Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre, and are available to adopt.
BARC opened in 2023, it is the first state-of-the-art, custom-built animal rehoming centre in Australia and provides services not previously offered by traditional animal ‘pounds’.
The Centre includes a large reception and adoption area, vet facilities for animals in the Centre’s care, kennels, catteries, designated exercise yards. It also has staff rooms and a function space. Not only can you adopt cats and dogs from BARC, they also offer training to help live with your new addition to the family. This is offered through one-on-one training or group classes.
Being part of the Sydney Royal Easter Show really helps showcase some of these adorable puppies up for adoption as well as getting the name of BARC out to the public.
