I loved the Sydney Royal Easter Show. It has a bunch of fantastic food, great rides, and sights a city slicker like me would not usually see. The Show attracts people from most walks of life with its wide variety of attractions. However, it is probably not the best place to take a vegan to dinner to. This by no means is an attack on vegans, I love vegans. Literally, I am married the most fantastic vegan in the world.
She is so fantastic she even came to Sydney Royal Easter show to see me after a day of work at Show Radio. She asked me if there would be anything for her to eat for dinner. “Sure, there is so much food at the Easter Show!” I replied with enthusiasm. When my wife arrived, we went for a hunt for dinner. We started with some of the food stalls around- While chips on a stick were available, they are hardly a dinner food for a loving couple.
Our next plan of attack was the Woolworth Fresh Food Dome. An amazing collection of food was to be had, with a mix of olives, fairy floss and a fantastic fruit display. It was not the place to enjoy a meal. The distillers provided the best sort of side track for our quest for food- with tasty unique flavours of Christmas cake and Espresso. After the explosion of tastes, we ventured into the Noodle Market section of the Easter Show. With the smells of Asian cuisine provided hope. My wife went to Sushi Hub, where they had a selection of vegan sushi rolls with the fresh tastes of cucumber and avocado. Being famished she grabbed a meal from there while I went to the Filipino bbq. It wasn’t the greatest of dates- I felt bad. There was so much for me to have meal however very few options for wife.
Never the less, we had some fun in our quest but I thought I needed to make it up to my wife. To follow the adventure- you can listen to the Show Radio Catch Up for our final day at The Sydney Royal Easter show here.
