Here at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, there are a huge amount of animals to see. When asking kids aged 5-12 what animals they wanted to take home, you really do get a wide range of answers. You get the classics, like a cow, horses, goats, chickens… but some of them got a bit creative with what they’ve seen at the show, they wanted to take home monkeys, meerkats and lions!! I had no idea there was a circus here at the show..
In reality though there are over 13,000 Stock animals and domestic animals with all ranges of competitions and shows! There’s the Royal Dairy Cattle Show, as well as the Hand Milking Competition.. not to mention the Dairy Cattle Calf Fancy Dress, super adorable cows!! There are endless horse jumping competitions, truly adorable Shetland ponies being rounded up in the main stadium and dogs chasing after huge bison!
If you’re a dog or cat person there are also dog and cat judging shows, as well as performances! Not to mention the pet pavilion where you get to stroll around admiring and petting cats and dogs at the displays, or learning about different animals in the countless informative shows hosted there!
You can’t forget all the winged animals as well! There was even a record breaking sale at the show, you won’t believe it but a pigeon sold for 1.4 million dollars! Don’t miss all these animals and all this excitement next year at the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2026.
