Do you know what the Young Judges is?
We didn’t, so Imy caught up with Arabela Whitby, the 2025 winner of the Young Judges Competition at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Essentially, the clue is in the name.
A group of three young women were marked based on how they judged a horse event at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Whoever’s marking was most accurate to the ultimate adjudicator, won.
A lot of judging, I know.
For her age, Whitby has an extensive background in horsing events. So much so, that she was invited to compete in this Young Judges Event, rather than follow the normal competition-based application procedure that is typically necessarily for an event of this calibre.
After this impressive win, Whitby found a new passion for judging, rather than competing, and hopes that her future holds this as an avenue for her.
