As the Wrangler Federation Rodeo Challenge draws to a close here at The Show, we spoke to Greg Hamilton – a real life cowboy – about what it takes to succeed in this physically demanding business.
Greg is the 2022 Australian Professional Rodeo Association Pro Tour Saddle Bronc Champion. Hailing from Mitchell in Queensland, he was the highest paid cowboy in Australia that year. Humble and quiet-natured, Greg’s persona belies a hard-headed persistence: this reporter personally watched Greg compete – including getting flung through the air by an excited horse, colliding with the ground and being left to limp out of the arena. Only to do it all again the next night.
