When Sam Johnston was studying at The University of Sydney, he had a conversation with a fellow student that stuck with him. “Cotton grows off a sheep’s back right?”. Instead of doing what might be the expected thing for young men at uni and make fun of somebody for not knowing something that seems obvious, Sam took it on himself to help educate somebody with a bit of farming knowledge.
He didn’t stop their, along with Jim Honner he cofounded the initiative Thank A Farmer For Your Next Meal. The initiative is dedicated to raising awareness about where Australian food & fibre comes from, who makes it and how it’s made.
