Last week American country legend Dolly Parton announced her plans to contribute $1 million to the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville for COVID-19 research and support. Dolly has a long history with charity works and philanthropy. Last week, she decided to bring joy into the bedroom’s of isolated children all over the world by starting a Youtube channel full of bedtime stories for kids (but the adults can join in too!)
Goodnight With Dolly is the newest addition to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and it’s an absolute bundle of pure joy. Not only does she put her acting chops on the line for the narrative, but she reads each picture book while snuggled up in bed in some dashing pyjamas. It’s exactly what we need!
“This is something I have been wanting to do for quite a while, but the timing never felt quite right,” she said in a press release. “It is pretty clear that now is the time to share a story and to share some love.”
Upcoming books include Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney, Pass It On by Sophy Henn, Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Peña, Coat of Many Colours and I Am a Rainbow!
Grab a glass of milk, tuck yourself in, and hit play.
