The Rural Youth Achiever Awards is a state-wide leadership program. It’s a chance for the Royal Agricultural Society to showcase young people with a passion for Agriculture as well as recognising future young leaders between the ages of 20 to 29 years of age, who are working hard to make a significant contribution to their community and to rural Australia.
Sadly, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic last year resulting in The Sydney Royal Easter Show being cancelled, this meant that the 2020 finalist’s were not able to carry out their duties.
Thankfully, the finalist’s are able to attend the show in all it’s glory and we will (finally!) see one of them crowned the Rural Achiever for 2021.
Megan from Show Radio caught up Ryan MacParland, one of the 2021 finalists. A true future leader who didn’t let a worldwide pandemic slow him down by still continuing to arrange Show Society shows in his home region down the South Coast; one of those shows was completely run online and it has set the tone for future events that Ryan was heavily involved with.
