Where can photographers get the best shots?

During my time preparing for the show as an announcer and producer, walking around as a field reporter, and recording audio as a podcast producer, I try to slip out my camera whenever I can. The Sydney Royal Easter Show is full of life, excitement, and colour. Perfect to those aspiring photographers or those selfie lovers out there.

Here are some of the good spots to take photos here at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

PS: All the photos shown here are captured by me

1. KIIS Fm Ferris Wheel

KISS Ferris Wheel at night

Whether you’re on the ground or high up in the air, capturing the KIIS Ferris Wheel is a must. I’d highly suggest capturing it at night as you can see all the beautiful colours come to life (just make sure you have a tripod on you if you want to ), but also take advantage of the views you’ll be able to see while you’re on it.

What the views look like

2. Coca-Cola Carnival

If you want a good crowd and lively shots, then the Coca-Cola Carnival is the place to be. Whether that be standing around or walking about, this is where action and excitement is at.

3. Photo cutout boards

Around the Sydney Royal Easter Show, you will see photo cutout boards that look like this. Some fit for kids, while others can fit the whole family. Just pop your head through or step on the stands and have your partner take that shot.

4. Food Farm – Farm Play

This is something more for the kiddies rather than the adults. Over at The Woolworths Food Farm, there is a small play area where young kids can learn more about farming through play. The adults can sit down next the play area and watch their kids learn and have fun.

Don’t forget to take a photo next to the llama once you’re ready to move to the next spot (ps: I’m sorry parents, you can’t have your kids ride/sit on it).

You can be beside the llama but NOT on top of it

5. The Evening Events

And lastly, who can forget about the Evening Events? Whether that be the live dancing, the Nickelodeon Night Parade or the Stunt Riders showcase, there’s always something for you to capture!

Whether you’re new to photography or a professional or here as a model or a budding photographer, the Sydney Royal Easter Show has always something for you to cover. You will never miss out on a good shot, you just need to have a good eye to find it.
