One Last Neigh: A Show Retrospective

It’s been an absolute whirlwind. I for one, have enjoyed the Sydney Royal Easter Show experience. Where else can you watch the Rodeo in a stadium framed by a futuristic skyline of gleaming silver towers? Here are my three favourite moments from the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

For me, the defining aspect of the show is the animals. Noble Clydesdales, plump pigs, Angora Goats, puffed up Pomeranian pups, and slinky Siamese cats are but a few of the variegated menagerie present. A particular experience that left me with a lot to ruminate on was the Angora goats parader event. I had the privilege of talking with veteran Angora breeder Debbie Scattergood about the amiable mischievousness of Angora goats, among other things.

Interview with Angora Goat Breeder Debbie Scattergood:

Moving from the world of creatures and critters to the world of creature comforts we arrive at the home and lifestyle pavilion. So much to see here, from a virtual reality exhibit to various massage chair displays. All the walking around the show has left me in need of a sitting with the Electric Massage Chair Zero Gravity Recliner Fully Automatic Shiatsu Heating Massager.

Last but certainly not least, we must address rumbling stomachs. As far as innovative gastronomic delights go, the show delivers. A burger in a pie, pluto popz, Mexican fusion gozleme, dumplings on a stick; Dr Frankenstein would be proud. But if like me, you prefer less post-modern fare, you cannot go past the cheese toastie: simple, traditional, and tasty.

All in all, it’s been a brilliant experience, thank you all for joining us here on Show Radio.
