RAS Rural Achiever Award

Rural Achiever Sam Bush

Whilst wandering around the show I met a young man named Sam Bush a keen young Beef Cattle farmer from Cootamundra in regional New South Wales. He spoke of his passion for agriculture and his aspirations to pursue a career within the industry.

Sam is a 4th generation farmer with a Bachelor in Agricultural Studies. He is also one of the recipients of the Rural Achiever Award for 2019.

My interview with Sam

The RAS Rural Achiever Award is a state-wide leadership program aimed at young leaders who have made a significant contribution to regional farming communities. The recipients receive all expense tickets to the Royal Easter Show as well as a share in 17,000 dollars. The program was developed with the Royal Agricultural Society as an opportunity for passionate young farmers to network with like minded people to learn more about the agriculture industry. The application process is rigorous and only eight young farmers are selected every year to engage with the program.
