The Country Women’s Asscociation (CWA) has returned in full force at The Sydney Royal Easter Show this year, as their famous Tea Room is once again serving up delicious scones for anyone who wants them. As delicious as the scones are, the work done by the CWA extends far beyond producing delicious, sweet snacks.
According to Rowena Casey, Chairwoman of the CWA “…we support children with education grants… we have various promotions, recently we’ve been promoting [awareness of] domestic violence”.
Each year the CWA Tearoom raises on average $150,000 which goes into supported a huge variety of country based communities. These include “supporting women and children, lobbying the government to improve areas of education, we support the Royal Flying Doctor Service”
The CWA Tea Room will be in the Home and Lifestyle Pavilion, with as many freshly baked scones you can eat.
